An Alabama man intentionally drove his car at high speed into two parked police cars, police say.

Mobile police said they noticed a vehicle come at them while they were parked in a lot off Cottage Hill road in the pre-dawn hours Monday.

Officers said they tried to move their patrol cars out of the way of the oncoming motorist, but one of the patrol cars was still struck.

Police said the driver, Edward McCall, 69, attempted to flee the scene, but in doing so hit the other police vehicle and then a brick column.

McCall was arrested and charged with two counts of attempted assault, criminal mischief and reckless endangerment.
