The body of an Alabama man who disappeared Friday night while trying to retrieve a dog from a lake has been found, Alabama state police said Sunday.

Agents with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said the body of Jeffrey S. Abston, 65, of Albertville, Alabama, was found Sunday after days of searching Lake Guntersville in Jackson County.

Abston disappeared beneath the lake’s surface after he got in the water from a pontoon boat while trying to retrieve a dog from the water.
