Alabama pedestrian struck by three cars and killed, state troopers said

An Alabama woman who was walking along a highway was struck by three different cars and killed, state troopers reported.
The multi-vehicle crash involving a pedestrian occurred at approximately 8:49 p.m. Thursday, July 6, and claimed the life of a Toney women.
The crash occurred when the 2013 GMC Yukon driven by Monique L. Jackson, 47, of Meridianville, struck Ruby A. Dawkins, 34, the pedestrian.
After the initial crash, Dawkins was struck by the 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander driven by Anthony S. Owens, 50, of New Hope and the 2015 Nissan Altima driven by Journey S. Castillo, 20, of Harvest.
Dawkins was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The crash occurred on U.S. 231 near the 343 mile marker, approximately 1 mile north of Meridianville, in Madison County.
