An Alabama woman was killed Friday when her vehicle struck a tractor trailer, state troopers reported.

The two-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 4:55 p.m. Friday, and claimed the life of a Piedmont, Alabama, woman.

Brenda A. Ferguson, 68, was fatally injured when the 2021 Lexus RX 350 she was driving was struck by a 2006 Mack tractor-trailer driven by Dylan Sorter, 35, of Guntersville.

Ferguson was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash, which occurred on U.S. 411 near the 255 mile marker, approximately 10 miles south of Alexis, in Cherokee County.
