Alabama Skies: Summer turns up the thermostat across the state

Many of us had an exceptional weather day Friday, especially for summertime standards. That changes Saturday. There will be plenty of sunshine, but the humidity will be increasing as temperatures risk.

As expected from models, Bret’s rapidly losing strength and was down to 50 mph sustained winds Friday night. We do, however, have a second tropical storm following behind Bret as Tropical Storm Cindy is now churning through the Atlantic.

We’ll continue watching both tropical storms, along with severe waves coming off the coast of Africa.

Tropical Storm Bret

North Alabama

Fog early, then sunny with a high of 90. Mostly clear in the evening and overnight until a few showers and storms move into the area after midnight. Low of 70.

Central Alabama

Mostly sunny with a high of 93. Saturday night, clear with a low of 69.

South Alabama

Sunny with a high of 92. Clear overnight with a low of 69.

Gulf Coast

Mostly sunny with a shower or storm possible in the afternoon. High near 92. Partly cloudy overnight with a low of 73.
