An Alabama teenager was killed when his truck struck a tree earlier this week, state troopers reported.

The single-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 11:27 a.m. Wednesday, and claimed the life of a Montgomery man.

William M. Romanowski, 19, was critically injured when the 2016 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup he was driving left the roadway and struck a tree.

Romanowski was transported to Russell Medical Center in Alexander City, where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

The crash occurred on Alabama 259 near the 1 mile marker, approximately 1 mile north of Equality, in Coosa County.
