A 20-year-old Alabama man has been charged with murder following a deadly weekend car crash that killed one person and injured another, state troopers said.

Lucas M. Johnson, 20, of Brantley, Alabama was arrested on Tuesday and charged with reckless murder and first-degree assault.

The charges and arrest stemmed from a two-vehicle crash which occurred at approximately 8:05 a.m. Sunday, where Collins was the driver of the 2007 Chevrolet Silverado, which resulted in the death of Lakenya B. Anderson, 40, also of Brantley in-conjunction with the injury of a 12-year-old juvenile.

Johnson was booked into the Crenshaw County Jail and is currently awaiting a hearing to establish a bond.
