A student at the University of Alabama died early Sunday in a car crash, coroner’s office officials confirmed.

The crash occurred at 2:20 a.m. Sunday on U.S. 280 near Hollywood Boulevard in Birmingham. Details of what exactly occurred were not immediately released.

Virginia Elizabeth “Cricket” Davis, 19, was pronounced dead at the scene, AL.com reported.

Davis reported was from the Birmingham area.
