An Alabama man apparently drowned Saturday and his body was found near a boat ramp, the local coroner said.

Marshall County Coroner’s Office officials said the dead man was identified as Shannon Ray Crump, 58, of Fort Payne, Alabama.

He was found near a boat ramp near his vehicle along with some of his personal belongings. His body was found off Morgan Cove Road near Alabama 227 in Langston.

The circumstances around Crump’s death remain under investigation.
