A storm system that caused plenty of problems for our neighbors in Mississippi could bring some of the same flooding, wind, and lightning issues to Alabama Sunday afternoon and evening.

National Weather Service offices in Huntsville and Birmingham have issued a Level 2 risk for northern regions to include Huntsville, Hamilton, Florence, Russellville, and Athens. The Level 2 risk area could have severe storms, winds up to 60 miles per hour, hail, and torrential rainfall. A Level 1 risk has the same threats, but not as widespread. Areas in the Level 1 risk include Cullman, Gadsden, Anniston, Tuscaloosa, Birmingham, Demopolis, Clanton, Selma, Alexander City, and Montgomery.
