A father and son were injured Friday in Alabama when their car collided with a freight train, a TV station reported.

WKRG-TV reported that Brewton police responded to a wreck Friday morning on Highway 31 and Highway 41 in downtown Brewton.

The car was heading north on Highway 31 when the collision occurred. The intersection does not have a crossing barricade but does have warning lights, police said.

The driver and his 15-year-old child were both airlifted to a Pensacola hospital. They were last listed in stable condition, the TV station reported.
