Investigators have identified the two men who were killed Sunday when their vehicle hit a bridge pillar and caught fire.

Jefferson County Coroner’s Office personnel said the men were Brayan Isacc Colindres-Turcios, 24, and Wilmer Jose Padilla, 22, both of Birmingham.

The two were killed at approximately 3:30 a.m. Sunday when their car struck a bridge pillar in the 900 block of University Boulevard in Birmingham.

The bridge was an overpass over Interstate 65.

The two men were pronounced dead at the scene.
