An Alabama cyclist was killed Saturday night after he was struck by a truck, a TV station reported.

WHNT-TV reported that Denis Lima, 59, of Albertville, Alabama, was killed Saturday night when he was riding his bike and struck by a 2002 Ford F-150 truck.

The accident occurred at approximately 8:15 p.m. Saturday on Highway 431 near Motley Street.

Lima was taken to a local hospital for treatment, but was pronounced dead a short time later.
