A 3-year-old girl died Wednesday after she was found submerged at an Alabama hotel swimming pool where she had been swimming with her family.

Irmani Ray, 3, of Birmingham was found submerged Monday night at the swimming pool of the Drury Inn & Suites on Grandview Parkway in Birmingham, the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office reported Thursday.

She was pulled from the water and given medical treatment, but was ultimately pronounced dead Wednesday morning at Children’s Hospital in Birmingham.

The circumstances of her death are being investigated by Birmingham police, the coroner’s office reported.
