Alabama patient killed when ambulance strikes 18-wheeler, head-on

A highway collision involving an ambulance, a tractor-trailer and two SUVs left the ambulance patient dead and four others injured, state troopers said.
Dana M. Foster, 74, of Lincoln, Alabama was killed Tuesday evening after the ambulance in which Foster was a patient was involved in a crash in Talladega County.
Four others, including the ambulance driver and a paramedic were injured in the crash.
The ambulance reportedly struck a 2006 Freightliner tractor-trailer, head-on before then striking a 2018 Nissan Pathfinder and a 2023 Honda CRV.
The accident happened on Alabama 21 near Sylacauga, state troopers reported.
Both drivers of the SUVs were also injured and taken to a hospital.
