An Alabama port authority officer was killed in the predawn hours of Thursday morning when the patrol truck she was driving drove into a river.

Officials with the Mobile Port Authority said officer Kimberly Sickafoose was patrolling when her drive went into the Mobile River at approximately 2:30 a.m. Thursday. The truck was recovered at approximately 8 a.m.
