An Alabama state prison inmate escaped early Friday morning and state corrections officials are seeking the public’s help to locate him.

Alabama Department of Corrections officials said Jonathon Lamar Bundy, 30, escaped the Elba Work Release Center at approximately 5:20 a.m. Friday.

The facility is located in Coffee County.

Bundy has been in state prison since 2021 after he was convicted of property theft in a case from Pike County.
