Eight charged after school vandals caught red-handed; police say more arrests are coming

Alabama police said Friday that eight people were arrested in connection vandalism at a high school building, but more arrests are coming.
Montevallo police said they were called late Thursday night to Montevallo High School at 980 Oak Street after a 911 caller reported a large group of people was at the school and causing damage.
As officers arrived they reported people began running in all directions, but they detained several people and began an assessment of the damage.
Police reported heavy damage to the inside of the school.
Police said eight people were arrested and charged with third-degree burglary and first-degree criminal mischief. Investigators said they expect more arrests as the investigation continues.
