An Alabama homeowner shot and killed a man who was allegedly trying to break into his home early Wednesday morning.

Mobile police said they were called to a residence on West Rachael Drive at approximately 3:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Police said Ryan Terrell, 31, was reportedly trying to break into a home when the homeowner discovered him and shot the intruder.

Terrell was taken to the a hospital for treatment but died of his injuries later in the morning.
