An Alabama teenage girl was struck and killed by two vehicles Thursday night as she walked with friends, authorities say.

The girl was struck shortly past 8 ap.m. on Heflin Avenue in Forestdale in Jefferson County.

She was taken to Children’s of Alabama hospital for treatment of her injuries, but was pronounced dead at the hospital shortly after arrival.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office said the girl was Yasmine L. Swain.

She was apparently walking in the roadway with friends when she was struck by two vehicles, each going in opposite directions.
