Alabama man drowns swimming in lake on Saturday, state police say

An Alabama man drowned Saturday afternoon while swimming in an Alabama lake, state police said.

The incident happened at approximately 12:45 p.m. Saturday, Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Marine Patrol agents said.

Alvin D. Nash Jr., 32, of Vestavia Hills, Alabama, was on a boat on Lake Logan Martin, north of the Stemley Bridge in the Mays Bend area of the lake, agents said.

Nash reportedly entered the water voluntarily and never resurfaced.

A search began immediately after the incident. HIs body was located and recovered at approximately 7:35 p.m.
