Alabama Skies: Severe threat upgraded for parts of Alabama

There has been a slight change in the forecasted potential for severe weather Friday night and Saturday morning as the National Weather Service in Huntsville has added a Level 3 risk.
This medium risk covers a the upper northwest corner of the state and includes the potential for damaging winds, tornadoes and large hail. The Level 2 and Level 1 risks stayed nearly the same with the slight risk covering the areas from Hamilton to Gadsden south to Tuscaloosa and Birmingham. The marginal risk includes Demopolis, Selma, Clanton, Alexander City, and Anniston. Both areas could have damaging winds, hail, and a tornado.
Severe storms are possible between 9 p.m. Friday until 7 a.m. Saturday.
