Alabama Skies: Great weather today, but next chance of severe weather is on the horizon

The next couple days are going to be nearly perfect with sunshine, a steady breeze, and cool temperatures with lower humidity. It’s going to be a good chance for our friends and neighbors to recover some the rough storms the last few days.

The next round of severe weather potential is approaching quickly, however. A Level 2 covers the northern part of the state from a Tuscaloosa to Birmingham to Gadsden line while a Level 1 covers the area to the south to a Selma to Clanton to Alexander City line. Timing is from 9 p.m. Friday until 7 a.m. Saturday. Threats include tornadoes, hail, and damaging winds. The threat areas and levels could change, but we’ll keep a watch.

North Alabama

Central Alabama

South Alabama
