Alabama Skies: Cold front bringing falling temperatures, strong storms

A strong cold front making its way across Alabama today will bring plummeting temperatures for everyone, rain for most, and severe storms for a few.

A Level 1 risk for severe storms stretches from Demopolis to Auburn, including Selma, Montgomery, and Eufaula. A Level 2 risk includes Troy, Andalusia, Mobile, and Gulf Shores. Risk areas include the potential for severe storms, damaging winds, and a tornado or two and end about 6 p.m. for southern areas.

North Alabama

Showers likely with a few storms possible early. High 63. Tonight, a couple remaining showers early, then cloudy with a low of 34.

Central Alabama

Showers and a couple thunderstorms with temperatures rising to 63 in the morning, then dropping to 55 in the afternoon. A few showers tonight with a low of 37.

South Alabama

Showers and thunderstorms. A couple storms could be severe. High of 68. Tonight, showers and thunderstorms with a low of 40.

Gulf Coast

Showers and thunderstorms with a few storms possibly severe. High of 76. More rain and storms tonight with a low of 43.
