Alabama police are investigating after passersby reported a vehicle in Shades Creek near Interstate 65 Sunday afternoon and then found a dead body inside.

Homewood police said they were called to a location near I-65 and Lakeshore Parkway and that it appeared the vehicle may have crashed into the creek.

The identity of the man inside the vehicle was not immediately released.
