Alabama Skies: Severe threat continues through tonight

Published 1:30 am Sunday, March 12, 2023

The threat for severe storms and even a couple tornadoes will continue throughout the day today, especially for central and southern Alabama. The threat for the Gulf Coast counties won’t end until nearly 8 p.m., so we’re looking at a full day of storms for parts of the state.

The main threats today will be heavy rainfall, gusty wind, and hail. The tornado threat is low, but it’s certainly not zero.

Even away from storms, it will be quite breezy today and tonight across the state. We’ll get much cooler for a couple of days early in the week.

If you are just waking up, don’t forget to make sure you set your clocks ahead one hour!
