Alabama health officials are investigating reports of more than two dozen elementary school children becoming sick after what parents said was raw chicken served to them at lunch.

Alabama Department of Public Health officials confirmed to WHNT-TV that the agency was investigating 26 reports of children who became ill at Sugar Creek Elementary School in Limestone County, Alabama.

Parents reported that nearly all of the 5th-grade class were sick after “raw chicken tenders” were served at lunch.

State health officials said the children were sick to their stomaches.
