Alabama Skies: What a difference a state line made!

After several days of preparing for last week’s severe weather threat, the system really underperformed once it crossed the Alabama state line. Sure, there were a couple tornado warnings and severe thunderstorm warnings, but the weather could’ve been much worse. That wasn’t the case for our neighbors in Mississippi where the National Weather Service confirmed five tornadoes across the state.

The only real issues following the storm system are some flooding waterways. If you live near a river that normally floods after heavy rain, be sure to stay alert if you’re usually impacted by minor flooding.

North Alabama

Sunny and very cold this morning but warmer later with a high near 55. A slight chance of sprinkles tonight with a low around 37.

Central Alabama

Sunny with a high near 54. Mostly cloudy tonight with a low around 37.

South Alabama

Sunny with a high near 55. Partly cloudy tonight with a low near 35.

Gulf Coast

Sunny with a high near 58. Partly cloudy tonight with a low around 38.
