Alabama Skies: Severe threat for parts of state tonight, widespread threat coming

The Storm Prediction Center is continuing to monitor a strong weather maker heading our way. A small portion of the state will be under a slight severe risk today, but the threat moves across the entire area Thursday.

Today will continue to be breezy for most of the state with some stronger wind gusts. It’s also going to be humid as air moves in from the Gulf.

North Alabama

Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms later this afternoon. A couple of the storms could be on the stronger side. High of 73. Showers and thunderstorms continue tonight with a low of 62.

Central Alabama

Showers likely, then a chance of thunderstorms later this afternoon. Humid with a high near 72. Tonight, showers continue with a low of 63.

South Alabama

A slight chance of rain this morning, then mostly cloudy with a high near 77. Mostly cloudy tonight with a low near 61.

Gulf Coast

Mostly cloudy with a high near 76. Tonight, mostly cloudy with a low near 63.
