A decades-long tradition in one Alabama town is set to bring plenty of thrills, shrills, and chills next month.

Scheduled for the weekend of March 24 through 26, the 62nd Annual Opp Rattlesnake Rodeo will feature two household names in country music: Scotty McCreery on Saturday and Diamond Rio on Sunday. Several other local and regional acts will pack the remaining schedule, offering plenty of live music to go along with food, games, shopping, beauty pageants, rattlesnake races, and the Rattlin’ 100 car race.

The event is family-friendly, and parents are encouraged to take their kids with free admission offered for ages 10 and below with an adult ticket purchase. The only exception to the free admission policy is for VIP experiences on Saturday. No pets are allowed, and service animals must be clearly marked. Guests are encouraged to take their own chair to enjoy concerts and other events, but no alcohol will be allowed nor be available for purchase.

Gates open at 9 a.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. on Sunday. There is no set time for the rodeo to end each night, which will take place when the last gig ends on stage. The rodeo will continue even in rainy weather unless there is severe weather in the area.

Friday’s admission is free. Day passes for Saturday are $15 each, Sunday’s day passes are $10 each, and the Saturday VIP experience tickets are $50 each. Passes for the entire weekend (non-VIP) are $25 each. VIP tickets include premium parking, pit-style seating for the Scotty McCreery concert, and gate admission. VIP tickets are only available online by clicking here. Passes can be purchased online at the same link or at All In Credit Union, CCB Bank or SIB Bank Opp locations.

Rides or vendor purchases are not included in entry fees. Parking is free at Channell-Lee Stadium. People wanting to leave and come back are welcome as long as they are still wearing their armbands. The address for the rodeo is 500 Brantley Street in Opp.
