An Alabama special education aide who was killed as part of a family’s triple murder-suicide died of blunt force trauma to the head, a TV station is reporting.
WHNT-TV reported that an autopsy report on the death of Jennifer Lepore revealed she was struck in the head with some kind of blunt instrument. The blow or blows were so severe they were deadly.
Lepore’s body was found in their Hazel Green home after police were called to check on her on January 18. She worked as a special education aid at Hazel Green Elementary School.
That her sons and husband were missing from the home was suspicious and police eventually discovered they may be located at a location in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. As officers arrived there and were talking with a neighbor, they heard gunshots from inside the residence.
Inside they found Lepore’s two sons, 9-year-old Jesse and 11-year-old Sean, both shot to death and their father 46-yer-old Jamie Lepore. Police believe Jamie Lepore killed his wife and then fled with the boys. As police approached, he killed both boys and then turned the gun on himself, investigators believe.
