An Alabama man was killed early Monday morning when he lost control of his motorcycle and was thrown into interstate traffic where he was then struck by “multiple vehicles,” police said.

The man was identified as Christopher Means, 29, Mobile police said.

Means was riding a motorcycle headed south on the Interstate 65 ramp turning onto Interstate 10 east when he lost control, police said.

He was thrown from the motorcycle and then subsequently struck by multiple vehicles, police said, noting that one driver stopped and stayed on the scene. Other motorists who struck Means are asked to call investigator Colton Futral at 251-208-1272.

That section of interstate was closed to traffic for several hours. The accident occurred just before 6 a.m. Monday.
