Two dead bodies, found just a few miles apart on Sunday morning along a stretch of interstate in Alabama have sparked investigations into what happened to the two men and if their deaths are connected, police said.
At approximately 6:15 a.m. Sunday police in Tuscaloosa County received a call about allegedly suspicious activity on Interstate 20/Interstate 59. When officers arrived they found a dead man near the interstate in Fosters.
A trucker called police to report he may have struck someone in that area of interstate. Police said it was not immediately clear if the dead man died before being struck by the truck or after.
Investigators told the Tuscaloosa News that the truck driver was not a suspect, but the death is being investigated as a homicide.
Less than an hour later another dead man was found approximately 3 miles away from the first dead body found.
The second death is also being treated as a homicide.
The two victims were not immediate identified and police said it was unclear if the two homicides were connected.
