An Alabama man and woman have been charged with child endangerment and drug-related charges, police say, after they were found on New Year’s Eve with a child near where they were allegedly making methamphetamine.

Priceville police said they were called to an address regarding a report of an unauthorized use of a vehicle.

As they arrived, officer said they spotted Jessica Herron attempting to hide from them. Officers also saw a juvenile inside the residence.

Officers discovered Herron had an active arrest warrant and they detained her.

Inside the house police said they noticed a strong chemical order and found the drug paraphernalia consistent with methamphetamine manufacturing.

The juvenile was turned over to a guardian.

While officers were at the residence, Maison Howard arrived, saw the officers and was seen trying to destroy drug paraphernalia, officers said.

Heron was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, child endangerment, possession of drug paraphernalia and illegal possession of prescription medication.

Howard was also charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, child endangerment, possession of drug paraphernalia and illegal possession of prescription medication.

Both were being held in the Morgan County Jail in lieu of $100,600 bond.
