An Alabama man has been arrested after a dead body was found lying near a roadway.

Harvey Dwight Ashley, 57, of Guntersville, Alabama, was arrested this week and charged with corpse abuse after residents along Kountry Korner Road found a dead body along the road in mid-December.

The body was identified as Eric Ray Parrish, 32, of Albertville, Alabama.

Police have not released details about the cause of death or exactly what happened to lead up to the death, but WHNT-TV reported that police do not believe Parrish’s death was a homicide.
