An Alabama man was stabbed and left bleeding for hours on Christmas Day in an alley next to the halfway house where he was living, a TV station reported.

Bessemer police said a passerby spotted Clay Austin Parker, 41, lying on 6th Alley North at the Arc of Bessemer halfway house.

AL.com reported that Parker was reportedly stabbed at 9:45 a.m. Christmas morning, but wasn’t found until nearly 7 p.m.

Police said another resident of the facility into custody, but did not immediately identify the suspect.
