An Alabama bride and her Georgia husband were speeding to Florida for a honeymoon when they saw flashing blue lights in their rearview mirrors.
Then things kept getting worse for the newlyweds as their plans spiraled down.
Abbeville, Alabama, police stopped the couple’s vehicle for speeding on U.S. 431 last week.
They were still wearing their wedding attire.
During the traffic stop police found drugs inside the vehicle, investigators said.
Groom Shavarious Jawan Moses of Riverdale, Georgia, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance (Ecstasy), marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was handcuffed while still wearing his wedding tuxedo.
His bride, Alexus Demetria Armstrong, 26, of Lanett, Alabama, was charged — while still wearing her veil – with giving false information and carrying a pistol without a permit.
Their wedding night was spent at the Henry County Jail – in separate cells.
