An elderly Alabama man died Wednesday when the pickup truck he was driving was struct by an SUV.

Alabama state troopers said Floyd E. Hale, 83, of Ohatchee, Alabama, was killed in the two-vehicle crash on Alabama 144 in Calhoun County.

Troopers said Hale was killed when his 2012 Nissan Frontier was struck by a 2005 Toyota Sequoia driving by Joseph F. Strutz, 54, also of Ohatchee.

Troopers said Hale was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.
