An Alabama man has been charged with the attempted rape and sexual abuse of a child, a county sheriff said.

Ronald Lynn Holt, 58, of Attalla, Alabama, was arrested on Monday and charged with attempted rape in the first degree and sexual abuse of a child, Attalla County Sheriff Jonathon Horton said.

Holt’s alleged victims were 8 and 10 years old at the time of the abuse.

Holt was being held in the Etowah County Detention Center on a $200,000 bond.
