Alabama bank robber left box behind that police suspected may have been bomb

An Alabama branch of Regions Bank was robbed Tuesday by a man armed with a small box and a note, police said.
Madison police said the robbery occurred Tuesday morning at a Madison Boulevard branch of Regions Bank.
Apparently the suspect who was wearing a mask and a wig walked into the bank, put a small box along with a note in front of a bank teller and demanded money, implying the box contained an explosive device.
A police bomb squad came and investigated the box and determined it was not a threat.

Officers responded with the bomb squad and determined the box was non-lethal. Anderson said there is currently no information about a suspect or the suspect’s vehicle.
