An Alabama town is again under fire over arresting elderly residents who were behind on paying their garbage fees.

In the latest case, CBS 42 reported that Dee Kent, 77, was handcuffed, arrested and put in the back of a police car after failing to pay a $141 garbage bill.

The arrest was reportedly made as Kent was driving to a doctor’s appointment to see if her cancer had returned.

Her arrest was one of approximately two dozen reported by the TV station.

Approximately a week ago the Valley, Alabama, police were featured in several news stories after the arrest of an 82-year-old woman over trash fees. Her bill was $77.80.
