An Alabama woman has died as a result of an accident last week in which her car struck a concrete barrier and overturned, state police said Monday.

Brandi L. Cofer, 26, of Autaugaville, Alabama, was critically injured at approximately 12:32 a.m. Wednesday morning when her 2008 Pontiac G6 car left the road, struck a concrete barrier and overturned.

The accident happened on Interstate 65 near the 173-mile marker, troopers said, approximately 1 mile north of Montgomery.

Alabama state troopers said Cofer was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and was ejected from the vehicle. She was taken to Jackson Hospital in Montgomery for treatment, but later died.
