An Alabama woman was arrested this week and charged with rape and sexual abuse, a local sheriff said.

Kristen Rice Perry, 30, of Ider, Alabama, was booked into the DeKalb County Detention Center on Monday, after an investigation by DeKalb County Criminal Investigations Unit along with Jackson County Department of Human Resources.

Perry was charged with second-degree rape and first-degree sexual abuse, sheriff’s investigators said.

She was being held on a $45,000 bond. The circumstances around her crimes were not released.

“I would like to thank our Investigators and Jackson County DHR for all their hard work and sleepless nights to get individuals like this off our streets,” DeKalb County Sheriff Nick Welden said. “Predators of this nature belong behind bars, and we will do everything in our power to put them there.”
