An early morning fight at an Alabama food truck left two people dead Sunday.

Police said they were called to a food truck outside a Birmingham nightclub at approximately 2 a.m. Sunday.

When they got there officers found one man lying dead on the sidewalk across from one of a number of food trucks parked near the Empire club.

Police said the suspect fled the scene before they arrived.

As officers were working the scene a food truck worker discovered – more than an hour after police arrived – another man dead inside a van.

The victims were later identified as Carlos Antonio Stewart, 43, and Cornelius Quinterryo Kennedy, 26, both of Birmingham.

Investigators believe the victim who was found in the van likely was shot and sought shelter in the back of the van.

Police said no arrests have been made.
