A fiery crash involving an Alabama ambulance Thursday left one person dead and others injured, a television station reported.
WSFA-TV reported that Don Parrish, who worked with Pilcher Ambulance, was killed when the ambulance left the road, struck a tree and burst into flames.
Parrish reportedly was retired from the Dothan Fire Department.
The accident happened in Pike County near Brundidge.
In addition to Parrish, who was pronounced dead at the scene, a good Samaritan who stopped to help remove victims from the ambulance was badly burned and at least one other ambulance worker was taken to the hospital for injuries.
The TV station reported that the patient being transported in the ambulance was not seriously injured in the wreck.
