Routine checks on Alabama county road ends with nine arrests, discovery of drugs, guns and cash

The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office arrested several suspects on multiple drug charges.
According to Dallas County Sheriff Mike Granthum, nine suspects were arrested on County Road 74 over the last week. He said deputies were doing a routine check in that area.
Granthum said the deputies found various forms of marijuana, several amounts of cash, handguns and pills.
“We’re bringing down drugs in Dallas County because we believe that’s 90 percent of our problem,” Granthum said.
Here are the suspects and their charges:
• Deric Robinson, first degree possession of marijuana, driving four-wheeler in town.
• Raymond Davis, possession of drug paraphernalia, carrying concealed weapon without permit and first-degree possession of marijuana.
• Patrick Pettway, drug possession with intent to distribute, carrying concealed weapon without permit and possession of drug paraphernalia.
• Orenthal Jackson, possession of controlled substance and first-degree drug paraphernalia possession.
• Curtis Longmire, first-degree drug paraphernalia possession.
• James Hurley, second-degree possession of marijuana.
• Steven Williams, first-degree possession of marijuana, first-degree drug paraphernalia possession.
• Devonta Cleveland, first-degree marijuana possession..
One of the suspects is a juvenile charged with handgun possession, but can’t be identified because he’s a minor.
Granthum said the deputies found various forms of marijuana, several amounts of cash, handguns and pills.
