A child has been wounded in a shooting, but few details were immediately released.

The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the Sunday afternoon gunfire. The shooting happened around 1 p.m. Sunday in a Pell City neighborhood, the sheriff’s office said.

The child was taken to Children’s of Alabama, Al.com reported.

No other information was available early Monday.
