A woman who sustained critical injuries in an Alabama house fire has now died, authorities said.

The Sunday blaze in Center Point also claimed the life of her 7-year-old granddaughter, Al.com reported.

Waniki Lushun Fox, 41, was pronounced dead at UAB Hospital on Tuesday, according to the Jefferson County Coroner’s office. Her granddaughter, Za’Niyah Fox, died Sunday morning.

Center Point Fire Chief Gene Coleman says fire began in the kitchen. It appears to have been an accidental fire, he said.
