A Dallas County farm was robbed during Thanksgiving week.

Dallas County Sheriff Mike Granthum and Dallas County District Attorney Michael Jackson both confirmed over the weekend that farm equipment was stolen at the JB Hain Company in Sardis.

Granthum said two camouflage Gators — two ATVs — and a dump trailer were among the property taken by thieves. Granthum also said that the barbed wire fence along County Road 138  was cut by thieves to gain access to the equipment undetected Granthum added that the stolen equipment is valued at over $60,000.

Jackson said businesses are often the targets during the Christmas season.

“Businesses and people are major targets of criminals during the holiday season,” Jackson said. “These burglars are going to have to be stopped by putting the hammer on them.”
