A 73-year-old Alabama man was killed and a 64-year-old woman was injured when the motorcycle they were riding was involved in a crash Saturday.

Alabama Law Enforcement Agency officials report that Robert Harley Burns, of Madison, was killed when his 2020 Harley Davidson motorcycle left the roadway and struck a ditch on U.S. 72 near Huntsville Saturday.

ALEA officials said 64-year-old Cathy Burns, a passenger, was also injured in the crash and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The crash happened just after 10:30 a.m. approximately one mile east of the Huntsville city limits.
